Doll Charm of Threads

I love working with threads. I knit, crochet, embroider, make paintings in the style of string art and nitkografiya. It is so relaxing after a hard day's work, distracting from household chores, that in the morning you want to live and work again. Constantly after work, small skeins of yarn remain. Where to apply them? And once I decided to make a simple and long-forgotten doll charm. Often these dolls are made of cloth, given to children, and they serve as a certain protection. But the handicraft made of thread also has similar strength. In addition, this work is much easier and requires less material costs. Plus, as I said above, you will solve the problem with the remnants of small skeins of thread. What should we prepare for work? I took: - a small ball of gray knitting thread; - a solid base (you can take a piece of wood, a book or a notebook); - scissors; - a decorative satin ribbon (0.5 cm wide) lilac shade to decorate the work.

First we take a thread and gradually wind it around the base.I took the usual pad for a computer mouse. You can use any book, notebook in a dense cover, a piece of wood. The width of my base is about 16 cm (this will be the size of the product). Try to put the threads close one on another.

As soon as the hank on the base turns out to be dense and fluffy, you need to stop. I got about 50 turns around the rug. This will be the body of the future pupa.

Now you need to make another skein of threads next to it. Only it should be less dense (20-23 turns on the basis will be enough). This is what we do hair for dolls.

Now take the scissors and cut off the bottom edge of the two skeins. Try to hold on top of your hands so that they do not fall apart. Thus, it turned out two blanks: one is bigger and the other is smaller.

It is necessary to bind a smaller blank with a usual knot in the middle of a larger one hank.Try to keep both halves as smooth as possible.

Now fold the big blank in half, and spread the smaller base to the sides.

Next we proceed to the formation of the head. Back off from the top of the product about 3.5 cm and tie this part with a thread. This is how the pupa’s head turns out.

Now, from the main skein, separate some threads to the right and left - these will be the pupa's handles. And in the middle of the remaining length, tie the waist of the doll with string.

At this stage we need to braid two braids on top. You can leave the tails or weave one big braid. In a word, we make the doll's hair.

And now we are forming pens for our product. You can also make them in the form of weaves or tie at the ends in bundles,or twist into braids.

Now you just have to cut off all the threads on the edges, comb the doll's skirt and decorate the product. For this, I used a thin satin ribbon lilac. You can take any shade and other decorative ornaments.
