How to chop a log house

By design, log cabins are crowns stacked on top of each other. The crown is one row of logs fastened by means of locking connections perpendicular to each other. Logs can be ordinary and rounded. The advantage of round logs is that they are much smoother, which means that thermal insulation of such log cabins is much better. In any case, the diameter of the log should be in the range of 20-25 cm. From the bottom they are hewn by 1 edge so that they lie more closely on the foundation and on each other and do not roll down. The width of the edge of the lower crown logs should be wide - at least 15 cm. At the beginning of the felling of the log house, the humidity of the logs should be at least 85%, as they are less deformed during the process of settling. To avoid deformational cracks, artificial cracks are made at the bottom of each log in logs.
The cutting of the walls of the log house begins with a folding crown, which is made of thick logs, cutting off edges from the inside and the bottom. When laying the following crowns, the spaces between them are laid with tow. If a log house is cut from an otsilindrovannogo log, the intervals between the rims of no more than 2-5 mm, which allows the use of rolled tow.Over future openings leave gaps of at least 10 cm with the expectation of shrinkage of the log house.
There, where there will be window and door openings, cut through small openings immediately after laying the crowns. This is done for normal ventilation, otherwise in the process of maturation of the log house, a mold will appear inside, which will be a disaster for future inhabitants.
On top of the log house, they mount the rafters with a crate, as well as the frame of the gables and cover them with a temporary material - roofing material.
Having completed the creation of a log house, it is left for 1 year, during which the logs dry out and sit relative to each other. After this time, the seams between the logs caulk, grind logs, put a permanent roof, install windows and doors. Sometimes a log house is chopped not on a foundation, but on a special construction site. To transport a log house to a permanent place, each log is numbered, marking the side of the world and the number of the crown. Then the log house is dismantled and taken to the place where the foundation for the house has already been prepared and is being reassembled on the spot.
Seams between logs caulk 2 times.
