How to germinate wheat?

To germinate wheat has recently become very fashionable, and for good reason, after all, wheat germ is a very useful food product. Let's talk about how you can germinate wheat at home. This is not at all difficult, but it will take some time — about two days.

How to germinate wheat at home

For germination will require:

  • gauze
  • container or flat plate
  • purified water
  • 50-100 grams of wheat.

For a start, we note that wheat loves sunlight, so it can be germinated on the windowsill, even under direct sunlight. Heat and moisture are the main conditions for the growth process. Make sure that there is always water in the bowl with grains. As needed, when the water evaporates completely and the gauze becomes dry, moisten the wheat with a spray bottle.

The better to care for the grains, to comply with these two conditions, the faster it will germinate. But there is one more important condition - it is to prevent the stagnation of water, so that the wheat does not start to sweep. If this happens, the wheat will have to be washed well and left to germinate further.

If you need to slow down the growth of wheat, then put it in the fridge. By the way, it is also possible to store wheat germ in the refrigerator, but not more than 2-3 days.

So, proceed to the germination of wheat. To start, wash the grains in cold water, preferably 2-3 times. Fill it with clean water and select the grains that float - they are not good. Drain the water completely.

We put the wheat on the bottom of the tank in 2-3 layers. Pour fresh water about 2 cm above the wheat layer. Cover all this with clean gauze.

We are waiting 24-27 hours. After this time, the first wheat germ should spit. After some time, when the sprouts will be about 2-3 cm - the germinated wheat can be considered ready. It should be rinsed again with running water. After that, wheat germ will be ready to eat.

The consumption rate of wheat germ per day

To improve immunity, lose weight, remove toxins and improve digestion, you need to eat 1 teaspoon of wheat germ per day. It is believed that young sprouts contain all the beneficial substances, such as iron, sodium, zinc, copper, magnesium, potassium, vitamins E, C, K, groups B, calcium, selenium.

Sprouts more than 3 cm are not recommended to eat. They are considered overgrown and can be bitter.

How to sprout wheat for juice

In order to make a healthy juice from wheat germ, you will need all the same as for growing wheat for food. The only difference is that it will take more time, about 7-10 days. During this period, sprouts reach 10-12 cm, they cannot be eaten anymore, they are only suitable for making juice. Long sprouts are cut and let through a meat grinder or juicer.

The daily dose of this juice is about 30 ml. It is necessary to accept in the morning on an empty stomach. If it is unpleasant to you to drink a concentrate, then it can be diluted with water in the ratio 1: 3. With a strong disease or avitaminosis, you can take juice 2-3 times a day. At the same time it is necessary to observe the reaction of the organism.
