How to remove stains from white things?

White things are beautiful and elegant. And if spots appear on them, the clothing loses its whiteness and ceases to be so attractive. But pollution is not a reason to give up and send the product into the trash. Purity can be returned!

Causes of stains

Stains in the process of wearing things, especially light - it is almost inevitable. And they can appear for a variety of reasons:

  • Interaction with colored things. So, if you wear a snow-white blouse under a poorly colored bright jacket, then the white fabric may remain traces of the dye.
  • Wrong wash. If you wash light clothes with color, then bright things can fade, and white - to stain and acquire individual spots or a new and most unpredictable shade.
  • Inaccuracy. This is especially true for children. So, a child can leave a stain on the white thing while eating or drinking, during school, drawing, playing games and other activities.
  • Increased sweating. Sweat, released in large volumes during physical activity, leaves unattractive yellow marks on white clothes, which are very difficult to remove.
  • Dust.It not only settles on the surface of clothing, which you forgot to put in the closet, but also penetrates into the structure of the tissues and lingers in the fibers, leaving gray spots.

How to remove contamination?

How to remove stains from white clothes? First, it is necessary to determine the degree of contamination, and also to try to remember or find out its origin: this will allow selecting the most effective and suitable in a particular case means. Also consider the kind of fabric, because delicate materials can be damaged by aggressive compounds.

Below are considered the most effective means and methods of removing contaminants from white things.

Proper washing

For starters, you should try to wash the stain. And to make the procedure as efficient as possible, follow simple rules.

  • First, choose a suitable and quality powder, taking into account the composition of the product - the fabric from which it is made.
  • Secondly, select the necessary machine wash mode (removing strong dirt manually is problematic and not always possible). The stained spots are removed only by hot water, and the number of revolutions of the drum should not be minimal. But do not forget to take into account the recommendations of the manufacturer, which are usually indicated on the tag or label things.
  • Thirdly, try to soak soiled clothes in hot water with the addition of powder.

If the use of powder did not give results, it is worth buying a stain remover. Chlorine-containing agents are aggressive and can damage thin and delicate materials, but oxygen bleaches are more gentle and soft, because their molecules penetrate into the fibers of the tissues and literally dissolve contaminants, but do not damage or break the structure.

Home ways

If washing did not help, then try using folk remedies:

  • Proven generations and a very effective way of bleaching is boiling. Immerse the product in boiling water and “boil” it for ten to fifteen minutes. But although this method allows us to achieve excellent results, it is far from being suitable for all products: things from elastic or synthetic fabrics can “sit down” or deform.
  • If the stain of juice or other liquid composition is fresh and moist, then plenty of salt, starch or talcum powder.Such powdered products have excellent absorption properties, that is, they absorb liquids and thereby remove them from the fibers of the material.
  • In the pharmacy, you can find the drug "urotropin", which is quite a powerful antiseptic. Powder and a small amount of warm water should be used to make a slurry, which is then applied to the contaminated area for a few minutes, then washed off.
  • Use another pharmacy - acetylsalicylic acid, that is, "Aspirin". Acid will corrode pollution and remove the stain, and to do this, crush a few tablets and either sprinkle it on the wet thing, or mix it with a small amount of warm water and apply it to the soiled area as a slurry.
  • It will help and bite, but only a transparent table, and not a dark apple or some other. Moisten a cotton swab or disc in it and thoroughly treat the area of contamination, and then wash the product. Also, vinegar can be used simultaneously with soda: first put soda on a cloth, then pour vinegar on top. A hiss will begin, and in the course of such a reaction the pollution will be released. But this method is not suitable for delicate fabrics.
  • Ordinary hydrogen peroxide can help quickly get rid of virtually any blemishes (including sweat). On the old spot you can apply the product in its pure form, and if the dirt is small, but extensive, then add the peroxide in the basin with warm water, which then needs to be immersed in the thing.
  • Apply baking soda, which is available to any hostess. It can simply be added to the powder in a machine and hand wash. And if the stain is stale and old, then make a gruel: mix soda and a small amount of warm water. The composition process the contaminated area, leave the mixture for half an hour, then rinse the thing.
  • Fat stains can be removed in this way: on the contamination area, sprinkle starch, talc or white flour, place a paper napkin or a piece of thin cloth on top, and then iron the product with a well-heated iron. The fat will melt under the influence of heat and immediately absorbed into the paper or woven material.
  • You can try to remove the greasy stain with dishwashing detergent. But use a transparent or white, as the dyes contained in color, can leave traces on the fabric. If the contamination is not removed from the first time, then repeat the procedure or immerse the product in hot water for thirty to forty minutes with the addition of the product.
  • Citric acid will help. It must be dissolved in warm water and the resulting mixture treated with a soiled product. And you can also use a solution of citric acid and soda, which, if desired, you can add vinegar.
  • If the contamination is minor, use alcohol: either treat the stain with a cotton pad soaked in the product, or add alcohol before washing.

Useful recommendations

Some tips:

  1. In order not to spoil the fabric, you should try the selected tool on a small and inconspicuous area of the product before removing the stain. If the material has not changed, then proceed to the full procedure.
  2. Do not use dark or colored products, such as laundry soap, mustard and others, to remove stains from light things. Do not fit and thick or traces leaving traces: kerosene, gasoline, turpentine.
  3. If one tool did not work, then try another. But at the same time, it is better not to apply the methods, since not all components are combined with each other: in some cases, unexpected reactions may begin that violate the integrity of the materials.

Remove stains on time and proven effective means to restore the attractiveness of white things.
